The Allen-Bradley 1746-ITV16 SLC 500 Digital DC Input Module operates at a voltage of 10 - 30V DC (sourcing) and it has 16 inputs with 16 points per common. It requires a backplane current load of 0.085 A at 5V DC and it has a maximum signal delay of 0.3ms in On-state and 0.5ms in Off-state. It has a maximum Off-state current and voltage of 1.5 mA and 5V DC respectively. The 1746-ITV16 has a nominal input current of 8 mA at 24V DC and a maximum power dissipation of 3.6 W, making it suitable for time-critical applications that require rapid response.
The 1746-ITV16 module is responsible for receiving and storing analog data that has been converted into a digital format in its data image table where he can be retrieved by all modular and fixed SLC 500 processors attached to it. The 1746-ITV16 supports connections from up to 8 sensors or actuators for various applications. It has removable terminal blocks that eliminate the need to disconnect wires. This makes replacing modules easy. The 1746-ITV16 also includes filter circuitry and optical coupling for signal noise reduction.
The 1746-ITV16 module’s input values are accessible by SLC 500 processors using Ladder Logic. Troubleshooting the module is easy with its LED indicators that show input status values. The SLC 500 system uses sharing-based hardware platform which includes various combinations of digital and analog I/O, thus saving cost and space. The 1746-ITV16 is intended for use in an environment with a 0 - 60 °C (32 - 140 °F) temperature and at 5 - 95% noncondensing relative humidity.
