The Rockwell/Allen-Bradley 1784-PKTx network interface card is a PCI universal card that must be inserted into a PCI bus slot. They connect PCs to PLC controllers on Data Highway Plus (DH+) or SLC processors on DH-485 networks for easy programming and data acquisition. These cards are necessary if general programming, configuration, and monitoring capabilities are required. They are compatible with most PCs since the incorporate the Universal PCI Card Standard. The 1784-PKTx cards offer I/O scanner functionality so they can be used with soft-control or embedded-control engines. br/>
1784-PKTx cards interface PC or PC-based controllers to Data Highway Plus, Data Highway 485 or remote I/O networks. This reduces the quantity and variety of PC interfaces needed to support the Allen-Bradley control system.
The 1784-PKTx performs data transmission, management, and local network diagnostics. They act as a remote I/O scanner and can communicate with the following: nodes on Data Highway Plus networks; SLC processors on DH-485 networks; DH+ and Remote I/O via SoftLogix-5; and ControlLogix through a 1756-DHRIO module.
