The handheld antifreeze and battery fluid refractometer is widely used in car maintenance, repair workshops, and battery servicing. This tool helps ensure proper coolant protection in cold climates and accurate assessment of lead-acid battery charge levels.

The RHA-301A model handheld antifreeze and battery acid refractometer has two functions.

1. It measures the freezing point temperature (in °C) of ethylene glycol- or propylene glycol-based automobile antifreeze. The reading indicates the temperature at which the tested solution will begin to freeze. This model is best suited for use in regions where temperatures do not drop below -50℃。
2. It measures the specific gravity (SG) of battery acid. Specific gravity is the density of the acid compared to water and indicates the state of charge of a lead-acid battery — higher sg means the battery is more fully charged.
