The handheld antifreeze and battery fluid refractometer is widely used in car maintenance, repair workshops, and battery servicing. This tool helps ensure proper coolant protection in cold climates and accurate assessment of lead-acid battery charge levels.

The RHA-503A handheld antifreeze and battery fluid refractometer has three functions:

1. It measures the freezing point temperature of ethylene glycol or propylene glycol - based automotive antifreeze. The reading indicates the temperature at which the tested solution starts to freeze.
2. It measures the freezing point temperature of windshield cleaning fluid. The reading indicates the temperature at which the tested solution starts to freeze.
3. It measures the specific gravity (SG) of battery fluid. Specific gravity is the density ratio of battery fluid to water, used to indicate the charging state of lead - acid batteries. The higher the specific gravity value, the more fully charged the battery is.
