The Allen-Bradley 1756-IF6CIS is an analog I/O module that has an input range of 0 to 20 mAwith an over-range indication when exceeded, and can be used in a ControlLogix system. It is a sourcing current loop input module that has 6 individually isolated current sourcing inputs available and its fixed resolution is 16 bits and 0.34 µA/bit. It offers an internal power source for each channel but the current is limited to 28 mA. The 1756-IF6CIS requires an RTB, or removable terminal block housing, of either 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H and this module only operates in current mode.




It is important to note that the user-supplied power supply of this module must not exceed 150VA. You should also not exceed the specific isolation voltage when using separate power sources. Also, never connect more than two wires in a single terminal.




The module has an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) filter that removes line noise in your application in every channel. Make sure to choose the notch filter that is the closest match to the anticipated noise frequency in your application, as each filter time affects the response time of your module.




The 1756-IF6CIS also has a real-time sampling (RTS) feature that instructs the module to scan its input channels and obtain all available data that the module will multicast. Note that an RTS period and requested packet interval (RPI) period must first be configured.
