The Allen-Bradley 1768-M04SE is a CompactLogix integrated motion module. It uses a fiber optic network that connects the drives and the module. The 1768-M04SE uses a SERCOS interface module to connect the drive. This module can control the digital drives by using a high-speed network and it has a real-time monitoring feature and serial communication feature.The SERCOS interface module can perform any complex, multi-axis, and synchronized motion. The 1768-M04SE can interact with various types of feedback devices and it can connect up to 4 drives at once.
The 1768-M04SE Compactlogix module has dimensions of 132.015 x 56.68 x 105.1 mm. The power dissipation of this module is 5.04 W, its weight is 0.2 kg, its operating temperature is between 0-60 °C, and the operating shock is 30 g according to IEC 60068-2-27.
This product is grounded through the DIN rail to chassis
ground. Use zinc plated yellow-chromate steel DIN rail
to assure proper grounding. The use of other DIN rail
materials (e.g. aluminum, plastic, etc.) that can corrode,
oxidize, or are poor conductors, can result in improper
or intermittent grounding. Secure DIN rail to mounting
surface approximately every 200 mm (7.87 in.) and use
end-anchors appropriately.
(1) You need a 1769-ECR end cap even if you aren’t using any 1769 I/O modules. Put it on the
right side of the controller.
