The Allen-Bradley 1771-IS multiplexer input module operates at a voltage rating of 5V DC. The module is single-slot and comes with the 1771-WF wiring arm. The module reads the status of 3 or 4-digit BCD thumbwheel switches and it is also capable of detecting an Off-On transition during a block transfer operation.The 1771-IS module has the capability to scan 72 switch contacts at the same time in a sequential order. The processor receives data from the 1771-IS that has already been scanned and multiplexed. The data comes from either the 3 or 4-digit thumbwheel switches.
