The RHA-787A handheld coolant and battery fluid refractometer can be used to measure the freezing temperature (in ℃ and ℉) of automotive antifreeze based on ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, as well as the specific gravity (SG) of battery fluid. The specific parameters are shown in the following table.

Product Description

The handheld antifreeze and battery fluid refractometer is widely used in car maintenance, repair workshops, and battery servicing. This tool helps ensure proper coolant protection in cold climates and accurate assessment of lead-acid battery charge levels.

The RHA-787A model handheld antifreeze and battery acid refractometer has two functions.

  1. It measures the freezing point temperature (in ℃ and℉) of ethylene glycol- or propylene glycol-based automobile antifreeze. The reading indicates the temperature at which the tested solution will begin to freeze.
  2. It measures the specific gravity (SG) of battery acid. Specific gravity is the density of the acid compared to water and indicates the state of charge of a lead-acid battery — higher sg means the battery is more fully charged.
