Runshine produce high-performance water based acrylic emulsion is specifically engineered as the primary binder for screen, flexographic and gravure printing inks and over-print varnishes (OPV). The polymer is produced by emulsion polymerisation of styrene, (meth)acrylic esters and functional monomers, resulting in translucent, blue-tone milky liquids with a particle size of 0.10 – 0.30 µm. Water Based Acrylic Polymer product is free of APEO, formaldehyde and meets low-VOC regulatory limits, making it the preferred waterborne acrylic resin for eco-compliant printing operations.
Acrylic copolymer emulsions for printing are water-based colloidal systems synthesized through emulsion polymerization of acrylic monomers (e.g., methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate, acrylic acid). Their molecular architecture is tailored to deliver:
Core-Shell Morphology: A hard acrylic polymer core (high Tg monomers like styrene) provides scratch resistance, while a soft shell (low Tg monomers like 2-EHA) ensures substrate adhesion and film flexibility.
Functional Monomers: Incorporation of acrylic acid(carboxyl groups) enhances pigment dispersion stability and crosslinking potential, while N-methylol acrylamideenables self-crosslinking at ambient temperatures.
Surfactant Engineering: Hybrid anionic/non-ionic surfactants (e.g., SDS + Tergitol™) stabilize particles and ensure compatibility with printing formulations.
Key Features • Fast drying: touch-dry in <30 s at 80 °C, full cure in <2 min • Outstanding pigment wetting and colour development for high-definition graphics • Waterborne Acrylic Emulsion with excellent adhesion to paper, board, BOPP, PET, PE, EVA, cotton, nylon and polyester fabrics • High gloss (>90 GU @ 60°) and optical clarity for OPV applications • Water Based Acrylic Resin with superior heat-seal and anti-blocking performance for flexible packaging inks • Water, rub and block resistance exceed 100 dry/50 wet cycles on Prüfbau tester • Compatible with popular acrylic resins, urethane-acrylic hybrids, wax dispersions and cross-linkers
Acrylic copolymer emulsions represent the technological cornerstone of sustainable printing, combining molecular design precision with application-specific performance. Their capacity to balance optical excellence, functional robustness (chemical/mechanical resistance), and ecological compliance positions them as indispensable solutions for the evolving print industry. Continued innovation in crosslinking chemistry, bio-sourcing, and nano-modification will further elevate their role in high-value digital, packaging, and industrial printing markets.

1. Ultra-Low VOC & Eco Compliance The water based acrylic emulsion is engineered to deliver <5 g/L VOC, ensuring every water based acrylate resin grade meets SCAQMD, REACH and FDA rules. By choosing this waterborne acrylic resin, formulators eliminate solvent odour and workplace hazards.
2. Universal Substrate Adhesion Thanks to its polar/ non-polar balance, the water based acrylic emulsion anchors to paper, BOPP, PET, PE, PVC, cotton, nylon and metallized films alike. The same water based acrylate resin also grips glass and aluminium, making the waterborne acrylic resin a single-binder solution for multi-substrate jobs.
3. Fast Drying & High Press Speed Touch-dry in <30 s at 80 °C, the water based acrylic emulsion keeps flexo, gravure and screen lines running at full speed. A tailored water based acrylate resin backbone prevents blocking, while the waterborne acrylic resin supports rewind immediately after printing.
4. Outstanding Optical Quality High-gloss OPV >90 GU, low haze and brilliant colour strength are hallmarks of the water based acrylic emulsion. Pigments disperse effortlessly in the water based acrylate resin, so the waterborne acrylic resin reproduces razor-sharp graphics and vivid hues.
5. Superior Mechanical & Heat Resistance The water based acrylic emulsion survives ≥100 dry/50 wet rub cycles and heat-seals at 90-160 °C. Cross-linkable groups in the water based acrylate resin boost scratch and scuff resistance, so finished prints using the waterborne acrylic resin stay pristine.
6. Wide Formulating Window Load up to 35 % pigment, add waxes, silicones or polyurethane hybrids— the water based acrylic emulsion never shocks. Each water based acrylate resin grade is pH-buffered 7.5-9.5, letting the waterborne acrylic resin accept universal colourants and rheology modifiers without coagulation.
7. Tailored Flexibility & Durability Tg spans −40 °C to +110 °C and MFFT 0-25 °C, so the water based acrylic emulsion can be soft for textiles or hard for cartons. A single water based acrylate resin platform gives printers access to a versatile waterborne acrylic resin family.
8. APEO-, Formaldehyde-, Heavy-Metal-Free Every lot of water based acrylic emulsion is certified APEO-free, formaldehyde-free and heavy-metal-free. The same water based acrylate resin meets OEKO-TEX Standard 100, ensuring the waterborne acrylic resin is safe for food-contact, toy and hygiene printing.
9. Ready-to-Use & Long Shelf Life Supplied at 48-55 % solids, the water based acrylic emulsion remains stable for 9 months at 5-35 °C. No pre-neutralisation is required—the water based acrylate resin is ready to pigment, and the waterborne acrylic resin shows zero sediment or phase separation.
10. Custom Engineering On Demand Need UV-absorbing, conductive or flame-retardant versions? The water based acrylic emulsion platform supports core-shell or self-crosslinking tweaks. Each water based acrylate resin variant can be fine-tuned, so the final waterborne acrylic resin exactly matches press and end-use demands.

Waterborne Acryilc Emulsion Binder is stable when stored at 20°C for 6 months after delivery date. The recommended temperature range is 5~30 oC. Freezing or storage at higher temperature than 30°C, can affect the viscosity or the average particle size and finally lead to a sedimentation or coagulation. A contamination with bacteria, fungi or algae can damage the product irreversible
