Quartz is a man-made
product, a combination of 93% natural quartz and 7% resin and pigments. You have a much wider range of colors
available in quartz countertops than you do with other types of stones. It is
even possible to get quartz countertops that mimic the look of marble or
granite.
Quartz is Moderate
resistance to heat. Quartz is generally resistant to temperatures up to 250
Celsius, but sudden changes of temperatures may damage the surface. Avoid
putting away hot pots and pans directly on the worktop. But such temperatures
are almost impossible to achieve in a kitchen or bathroom environment.
Quartz is non-porous.
An Engineered Quartz countertop is not impervious to bacteria and germs, it is
also unlikely to be stained by oil, tomatoes, juice, hot hair tools or any
other common kitchen or bathroom items.
