Titanium Carbide is a gray-black powder, with cubic crystal structure, high melting point and high hardness low friction characteristics and has metallic properties, good heat transfer properties and electrical conductivity. By adding to the metal alloy powder could greatly improve wear resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties. Titanium carbide is insoluble in hydrochloric acid, not soluble in boiling alkali, but can be dissolved in nitric acid and aqua regia.


Application of titanium carbide powder:


1. TiC is widely used in manufacturing wear-resistant materials; cutting tool materials, mold manufacturing, production of metal smelting crucible. Transparent titanium carbide ceramic is a good optical material.

2. Titanium carbide as a coating in the surface of mental alloy tool surface, can greatly improve the performance of the tool and extension its use life.

3. TiC used in the abrasives and abrasive industry is an ideal material to replace the traditional abrasive materials like alumina, silicon carbide, boron carbide, chromium oxide and so on. Titanium carbide abrasive materials, abrasive wheel and ointment products can greatly improve the grinding efficiency and grinding accuracy and surface finishment.

4. Sub-micron ultrafine titanium carbide powder used in powder metallurgy production of ceramics, cemented carbide parts of raw materials, such as wire drawing film, carbide tooling.

5. Titanium carbide with tungsten carbide, tantalum carbide, niobium carbide, chromium carbide, titanium nitride to form binary, ternary and quaternary compound solid solution, which is used in coating materials, welding materials, rigid film material, military aviation material, hard metal alloys and ceramics.
