The INNIS01 Network Interface Slave Module (NIS) and the INNPM11 Network Processing Module (NPM) make up a process control unit interface. 

This process control unit interface provides control modules in a process control unit with access to an INFI-NET® communication system. This instruction explains process control unit interface features, specifications and operation. It also includes installation and troubleshooting procedures for each module. 

The system engineer or technician using this interface should read and understand this instruction before installing any modules. In addition, a complete understanding of the INFI 90® OPEN system is beneficial.
