NC Varnish Topcoat Fast Drying Low VOC with Excellent Leveling

NC Varnish Topcoat is a decorative one-pack nitrocellulose coating formulated with special additives. It delivers an ultra-fast drying finish with excellent leveling properties, featuring a smooth film that is easy to rework and ensures good film build-up. The coating offers a silky finish with moderate hardness, and provides moderate resistance to household chemicals and beverages (long-term contact with strong solvents should be avoided). Compared to traditional PU coatings, it has lower VOC emissions, making it suitable for decorative protection of wood surfaces.

Application Data

Method of application :      Conventional spray application

Thinner :                               NC Thinner

Thinning ratio(per kilogram):Use 100% for ease of application depending on the gun type

Application Steps

1. Substrate Preparation: For blanks or boards, sand with 320-mesh sandpaper; for topcoats, sand with 400-600-mesh sandpaper.

2. Color Wiping: Perform color wiping treatment according to the sample or the customer's color requirements. Color wiping is optional and can be omitted depending on the desired finish effect. After color wiping (if applied), allow air-drying at room temperature for 4-8 hours.

3. Paint Proportioning: The ratio of base coat:thinner=1:1.2.

4. Primer Process: After spraying the first coat of primer, allow air-drying for 2 hours, then sand and re-spray the second coat of primer. A third re-spray is optional if necessary. (Note: The amount of thinner can be appropriately reduced during re-spraying.)

5. Color Adjustment: After primer spraying is completed, color-adjusting oil can be used for color adjustment or color modification.

6. Glazing: Select the required gloss level and apply the corresponding.

Applocation Details

  • Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.
  • The surface must be clean and free from oil, grease, dirt, lime scale and any other foreign contaminants.
  • The sandpaper is applied in the direction of the wood fruit, and it is taken into account to wipe the dust.
  • Close the pores by repeated application of a sealer of Runshine products.
  • Applying by spray gun (1.3 – 1.4 mm) (3 – 4 bar) with 2-3 coats and flash off time.
  • All tools should be cleaned with Wash Thinner.
