1.What it is
Part number 3006 is the second-generation Enhanced Main Processor (EMPII) for Tricon v10 firmware and later.
It sits in the left-most slot of every Tricon rack and executes the TMR (Triple Modular Redundant) voting engine, I/O scanner, SOE logger, and all open communications.
Two EMPII cards form an active-standby pair; lose either one and the system remains SIL-3 capable.
