The Allen-Bradley 1769-L32E compact Logix controller comes in a unique, compact, and cost-effective package, and offers users control over the compact Logix system. It offers user or system protocol through an EtherNet communication port and can connect to devices through the 1747-CP3 or 1756-CP3 cables. It has a user memory of 750KB with RXLogix 5000 programming software. The 1769-L32E has a replaceable battery and it can support 30 I/O modules, with a maximum of 3 I/O banks connectable through 2 expansion cables. The 1769-L32E compact Logix controller has a module expansion capability of at least 30 (1769) modules. It has a (5 Volts) DC draw Current of 850 mA and heat dissipation of up to 6.5 Watts. The 1769-L32E can be mounted with ease using either a DIN mount or panel mount. The DIN mount has an operational shock rating of 30G and a 50G non-operational shock while the panel has a 30G shock rating (operational mode) and a 50G shock rate (non-operational mode).

The 1769-L32E has an exceptional vibration of about 5G in an operational mode. It can resist a mounting torque force of 1.1 to 1.8 N-m. The 1769-L32E has a 0 to 60 degree Celsius (32 to 140 degree Fahrenheit) operating temperature and a -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit) storage temperature and non-condensing relative humidity of 0 to 95%. This Logix controller has group 1 certified emission (CISPA11) and has a distinct open-style enclosure.

Compact I/O expansion cables have the same dimensions as the end caps. Expansion cables can be used on either the right or left end. A 1769-ECR right end cap or 1769-ECL left end cap terminates the end of the communication bus.

This product is intended to be mounted to a well-grounded mounting surface such as a metal panel. Additional grounding connections from the controller’s mounting tabs or DIN rail (if used) are not required unless the mounting surface cannot be grounded. Refer to publication 1770-4.1, Industrial Automation Wiring and Grounding Guidelines, for additional information.

Panel Mounting Mount the controller to a panel by using two screws per module. Use M4 or #8 panhead screws. Mounting screws are required on every module. This procedure lets you use the assembled modules as a template for drilling holes in the panel.

1. On a clean work surface, assemble no more than three modules. 

2. Using the assembled modules as a template, carefully mark the center of all module-mounting holes on the panel. 

3. Return the assembled modules to the clean work surface, including any previously mounted modules. 

4. Drill and tap the mounting holes for the recommended M4 or #8 screw.

 5. Place the modules back on the panel and check for proper hole alignment.

6. Attach the modules to the panel by using the mounting screws.

 7. Repeat steps 1...6 for any remaining modules. DIN Rail Mounting The controller can be mounted on the following DIN rails: • EN 50 022 - 35 x 7.5 mm (1.38 x 0.30 in.) • EN 50 022 - 35 x 15 mm (1.38 x 0.59 in.)
