The handheld antifreeze and battery fluid refractometer is widely used in car maintenance, repair workshops, and battery servicing. This tool helps ensure proper coolant protection in cold climates and accurate assessment of lead-acid battery charge levels.

The RHA-300FA model handheld antifreeze and Battery acid refractometer has two functions:

1. It measures the freezing temperature (in ℉) of ethylene glycol or propylene glycol - based automotive antifreeze. The reading indicates the temperature at which the measured solution starts to freeze.
2. It  measures the specific gravity (SG) of battery fluid. The specific gravity is the density ratio of battery fluid to water, which is used to indicate the charging state of lead - acid batteries. The higher the specific gravity value, the more fully the battery is charged.
