Calacatta Quartz countertops are engineered. They are 90-95% natural ground quartz combined with polymers, resins and pigments. The resin binds the elements, creating a very strong, non-porous, and scratch resistant material.  Additionally, since pigment can be added during manufacturing, quartz is offered in a wider range of colors.

Quartz countertop is low maintenance.Quartz stone countertops can be cleaned by just mixing water and vinegar with dish detergent or dish detergent and baking soda. No solvents or alcohol-based products.With engineered stone countertops in the kitchen, everyday clean up is a breeze.

Quartz countertops are heat resistant, not heat proof. Quartz countertops are certainly better than laminate surfaces when it comes to resisting heat; Resin is used during construction of Quartz countertops (which makes it really solid and durable), but it also makes it vulnerable to direct heat from hot pans directly from the oven. We recommend trivets and hot pads.
