Identity & Function
IS220YDIAS1AK is a 16-channel, 24 VDC discrete-input I/O-Pack in GE’s Mark-VIe safety-critical architecture.
It is NOT a stand-alone PLC card; it clicks directly onto a terminal board (e.g., IS200TREGH1B) and communicates with the controller over the IONet / Ethernet I/O ring. In turbine language it is the “contact-wetting” pack for speed probes, limit switches, vibration locks and ESD push-buttons.

One-Minute Installation Checklist
a) Slide along DIN-rail until black latch clicks—wrong orientation will not seat.
b) Use Belden 7965A CAT-5e for IONet; copper ≤100 m, fiber up to 2 km with SFP.
c) Field wires: 0.5–2.5 mm², 85 °C minimum, cage-clamp torque 0.5 N·m.
d) Set “Input Filter” in ToolboxST—default 2 ms eliminates contact bounce.
e) Redundancy: same part number covers Simplex, Dual or TMR R-sectors.
Compatibility & Retrofit
Drop-in replacement for legacy IS200STAIH2A board-set while keeping existing terminal boards and field cabling. Do NOT confuse with IS220YDIAS1A (no “K” suffix) which lacks G3 corrosion coating.
Typical Applications
Gas & steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, HRSG gensets—any SIL-2 discrete input inside a Mark-VIe or Mark-VIeS safety loop. Common signals: overspeed bolt, thrust-bearing wear, fire-gas trip, generator differential lock-out.
Quick Fault Guide
• IONet LED amber blink → switch port mismatch; set fixed 100-FDX.
• DIAG LED red 2 Hz → channel over-voltage (>32 V); add external 24 V regulator.
• No LED life → pack not seated or 28 V rail missing; measure P3-P4 ≥18 V.
