If you need a steering scheme with a smaller Angle and a smoother turn, and can accept permanent connection methods such as welding, a 22.5° elbow is an ideal choice.
If you are selecting a type for a fire or commercial piping system based on grooved connections, the standard 45° and 90° grooved elbows available on the market remain more mainstream and accessible options. Unless there are specific design requirements, 22.5° grooved elbows are rarely used.
