1. Structural composition

Basic structure: It consists of a folding telescopic boom system (two to four sections of boom), an electric remote-controlled fire cannon, a tank (water tank and foam tank), a second-class chassis and a hydraulic control system.

Auxiliary system: It includes outriggers, a rotating disk, a fire pump, a foam proportioning mixer, an emergency gasoline engine, etc. Some models integrate water tanks and fire pumps to achieve independent fire fighting.

2. Functional characteristics

High-altitude firefighting capability

The maximum operating height can reach 42 meters (JP42 type), the boom can be retracted, folded and rotated 360°, and the top is equipped with an electric remote-controlled cannon, which supports DC, spray and foam spraying.

The water cannon has a range of more than 70 meters (water ≥ 75 meters, foam ≥ 65 meters), and a flow range of 30~80L/s, which has the advantages of long distance and large flow.

Operational flexibility ‌

By controlling the boom extension, rotation and water cannon angle through the turntable electric control handle or wireless remote control, firefighters can accurately extinguish fires without climbing. ‌

Safety design ‌

Equipped with interlocking devices for getting on and off the vehicle, soft leg alarm, boom limit deceleration and other devices to ensure operational stability; some models are equipped with emergency systems to maintain basic functions when the main power fails. ‌

3  Applicable scenarios ‌

Fire in high-rise buildings ‌: Use the boom to cross obstacles and directly extinguish high-rise fire sources ‌. ‌

Petrochemical facilities/large-span plant ‌: Control fires in flammable and explosive places such as oil tanks and warehouses through large-flow foam spraying ‌. ‌

Complex terrain rescue ‌: Strong span operation capability, can be deployed in narrow or obstacle areas, reducing the need for vehicle movement ‌. ‌

4. Technical parameter examples ‌

Typical model ‌: JP42 (Mercedes-Benz chassis), 4.8 tons of water, 2.7 tons of foam, leg deployment time ≤40 seconds, boom full extension time ≤190 seconds ‌. ‌ Chassis performance: Mostly adopt 6×4 drive form, with a maximum speed of ≥90km/h, which can meet the needs of quickly reaching the scene.

5. Comparison with other high-rise models

Compared with ladder fire trucks, high-rise spray trucks have higher fire extinguishing efficiency (large liquid carrying capacity and strong water cannon flow), but weaker rescue and manning capacity; compared with aerial platform vehicles, they focus more on high-altitude firefighting rather than personnel rescue, and have a lighter structure.
