The shape of the bamboo leaves on the back of the turtle is peculiar, with holes and cracks resembling the back of a turtle. There are large crescent shaped leaf scars on the nodes, with cord like fleshy aerial roots, extremely tolerant to shade, making it a large indoor potted foliage plant.
