Product Description

Grooved Swing Check Valve is a type of check valve that uses the same swinging disc mechanism to prevent backflow but is designed with grooved ends for a mechanical coupling connection instead of flanges. This grooved design allows for much faster installation and disassembly using a pair of coupling housings and nuts and bolts.

 

The core internal function—swinging open with forward flow and closing with gravity and backflow—is identical to a flanged swing check valve.

Q:Are there any special orientation requirements for the installation of grooved swing check valves?

A:Yes, it must be installed horizontally and it is necessary to ensure that the rotation shaft of the valve disc is in a horizontal position. This is the absolute prerequisite for its working principle. The valve disc needs to rely on gravity to move back and forth and close. Vertical or inclined installation is strictly prohibited; otherwise, it will cause the valve to fail to work properly or completely fail.

 

Q:Is it applicable to the fire protection system?

A:Yes, this is one of its main application scenarios. It is often installed at the outlet of the fire pump to prevent water from flowing back in the water supply network.
