Capillary action is the phenomenon of a liquid flowing in narrow spaces without the assistance of, and in opposition to external forces like gravity. In many wire and cable applications water and moisture migrate through the conductors shorting out and permanently damaging electronic circuitry. The result is expensive repair and replacement costs.
The solution Anti-capillary (OIL/water blocked) wire and cable. CIT OIL/water blocked product consists of bare or tinned copper conductors sealed with a Gear or silica blocking agent.. These oil/ water-blocked cable constructions are often used in the shipboard industry, outdoor lighting, traffic signal, oil wells, automotive, marine and military applications. Anti-capillary conductors are available in any of the single end or custom cable constructions
