Also referred to as bridge tooling or prototype tooling, is a quick and cost-effective method of performing low-volume injection molding for diverse plastic part types. The creation of an aluminum or steel mold using the rapid tooling technique allows for its integration into the molding process to generate numerous copies of a component. Rapid tooling is employed to produce moldings that fulfill the demands of speedy prototyping within a condensed timeframe or to fill the interim gap prior to high-volume production.
