The Difference Between Hydrophilic Silica and Hydrophobic Silica Nanoparticles

The difference: 

Hydrophilic silica features: 

1. It is a hydrophilic liquid phase silica obtained by hydrolysis of a volatile chlorosilanes in the oxyhydrogen flame.

2. It is composed of a silica as a white powder of high purity amorphous silica. Hydrophilic silica is moistened with water and can be dispersed in water, its surface not treated.

Hydrophilic silica function:

1. is a hydrophobic silica prepared by the chemical reaction of hydrophilic fumed silica reactive silanes (e.g., chlorosilanes or hexamethyldisilazane amine oxide). It is hydrophobic (water repellent), and can not be dispersed in water. 

2. hydrophobic silica products are characterized by: low moisture absorption, good dispersion, rheology even have the ability to regulate for polar systems
